Just wanted to let everyone know that I am collapsing the news.brentnorris.net domain into brentnorris.net
That means that all the links to the blog and gallery and stuff will be changing from news.brentnorris.net/ to www.brentnorris.net/
Please update your links if you have them. The links on the main brentnorris.net page have already been updated.
Does this mean all the links in my blog to pictures and thumbnails in your albums will no longer function?
If so, how soon will the links be dead?
Eventually they won’t work. I don’t plan on shutting the other domain down for awhile since google doesn’t have any of the new stuff cached. I would like to wait for that all to get pulled again and for traffic to start looking normal to the new stuff.
Right now the content is available on both domains, due to the wonderful power of symlinking in Linux.
The ones on my homepages are the same way.
Are the pictures at the same url except for the domain change?
Can I go thru and just change the domain in the links to the pictures? I guess I mean, are the directories structured in the same way as before, just transferred?
Sure. Everything is in the same place. Basically if you can do a find for “news” and replace with “www” there should be no problem.
